about the author So...a bit about me. I live here in North Carolina with my wife and two boys. My parents are Jamaican but I was born in Luton, England. I grew up in Brooklyn, NYC and I am a diehard New York Yankees fan. I attended the University of Maryland, University College at Spangdahlem AFB campus in Germany while serving in the military and my major is in Computer Science with a minors in Mathematics. My career in computer science arena has now spanned over twenty years from systems administration to network management to storage administration and architecture. You can view my professional resume in PDF format here. What makes working in this field so enjoyable is that it's also a hobby for me. Started on a Commodore VIC-20 and hadn't looked back. I do have a few non-tech
hobbies. Drums and Percussion is my first love. I've played on and off
for the last two decades but have recently picked back up "fulltime" as
I've finally got a house with a basement with room to play. I love
progressive rock, jazz and fusion so you can imagine the drummers I
like. A second hobby is my on again, off again photography habit.
Something I'm gravitating back towards again.
My secret love of a hobby is sailing. I thing 2009 or 2010 is the year I get that 28' sailboat if all works out well. Got hooked about ten years ago when introduced to it by a friend and I haven't let go of that dream. about this site This site is now powered by Site5.com. I used to host it from home on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL adn PHP) platform, but you can't beat the $5 web hosting deal. The gallery section points to my dotmac site, or what is now me.com. For the music section, that's done from home, using kplaylist, a PHP application to stream my music when I travel. My blog is all about my personal ramblings, thoughts and plain venting on the issues of the day. The HOME PHOTO The photo on the homepage. It's a photo of Jordan and was taken on October 17th 2004 in Myrtle Beach, SC. with my old Fuji S series camera.. It was actually a mis-photo as the shudder speed on the Finepix is very slow, and he was running very fast. So I cropped off about 30% from the bottom and converted it to a black and white photo. Think it worked out pretty good, don't you? |
